about dna

What is DNA?

For adoptees, DNA means a biological connection to another human being which is something many adoptees have never had.

DNA testing is the leading way to find biological family members.

What is the difference between CODIS and Autosomal testing?

CODIS testing is parent-child DNA testing. Autosomal testing is broader and enables you to connect with biological relatives such as Siblings, Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, and Cousins. (Note: Those with an XY chromosome can connect to paternal and maternal relatives. In contrast, those with XX chromosomes can only trace maternal ancestry.)

Art for me is a way to express what my words cannot. A healing part of my birth search was drawing what could have been.
