• Guest Speaker: Hannah Gershone

Hannah Bio: Hannah Gershone is a Chinese adoptee from Zhejiang province. She graduated with an M.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon. Hannah is currently researching the entanglements between Asian transracial adoption, environment, and art. Her research explores transracial adoptee navigations of belonging and identity in the context of climate change. Through the multimedia project Adoptee Literary and Art Archive, she argues that environmental justice is adoptee justice. As a 2022 Yale Environmental Fellow, Hannah has also worked with environmental nonprofit organizations, such as the Global Greengrants Fund, to implement environmental justice digital storytelling initiatives. Before pursuing a graduate degree, she worked as a soundscape technician for Grand Canyon and Saguaro National Park.
