CCI Adoptee Chats: Earth Day Celebration
CCI hosts an Adoptee Chat every month. On Earth Day, Saturday (4/22), we will be hosting a special adoptee chat exploring China, adoptees, and the environment. If you are a Chinese adoptee and interested in joining our this or our next chat, see our Adoptee-Only Facebook group for more info!
CCI strives to make each chat as meaningful as possible. Please visit the CCI Adoptee Only Facebook Group to RSVP and fill out a pre-chat form where adoptees may share any other topics they wish to see in the upcoming event.
DISCLAIMER: CCI moderators are not professionally trained in mental health or wellness. Their role will be to facilitate and support adoptees in whatever capacity possible. Opinions expressed during the chat do not necessarily reflect the organization's views.
PLEASE NOTE: CCI was founded as an adoptee organization for and led by adoptees. Fittingly so, it continues to support adoptee driven exploration such as research projects. We ask that all
research endeavors be conducted through our outside announcements submission request form and NOT the chats themselves.Guest Speaker: Hannah Gershone
Hannah Bio: Hannah Gershone is a Chinese adoptee from Zhejiang province. She graduated with an M.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon. Hannah is currently researching the entanglements between Asian transracial adoption, environment, and art. Her research explores transracial adoptee navigations of belonging and identity in the context of climate change. Through the multimedia project Adoptee Literary and Art Archive, she argues that environmental justice is adoptee justice. As a 2022 Yale Environmental Fellow, Hannah has also worked with environmental nonprofit organizations, such as the Global Greengrants Fund, to implement environmental justice digital storytelling initiatives. Before pursuing a graduate degree, she worked as a soundscape technician for Grand Canyon and Saguaro National Park.
