CCI Board Mission
The mission of the CCI Board is to lead, guide, operate, and plan for CCI, and its projects and programs, in accordance with our core mission statement, values, and bylaws.
CCI Board Governance
The CCI Board is governed by our official bylaws formally adopted on January 19, 2019.
CCI’s Board is also in compliance with our Conflict of Interest Policy.
CCI’s Board meets virtually over Zoom on the first Sunday of every month. Please see our 2022-2023 Board Meeting Schedule. All of CCI’s Board meetings are open to any Chinese adoptee member. Please email chinachildreninternational@gmail.com to request the Zoom link.
What is the CCI Board
The CCI Board governs CCI according to its official bylaws and ensures that regulations are followed and that the organization is run in fulfillment with its mission.
The CCI Board is also a working team, meaning that members have active day-to-day responsibilities that enable CCI to continue running. The Board meets on the first Sunday of every month, as well as demands about two to three hours of work outside of board meetings. Every quarter, board members vote for a slot during which meetings will take place for the following quarter.
Why CCI Board?
In perhaps the most important sense, Board members play an integral role in establishing values, setting direction, and articulating a vision for the future of the organization. Through open discussions both inside and outside of our monthly video-chat meetings, CCI board members formulate the backbone of both what CCI is and what it should be in the future.
More concretely, board members collaborate with the rest of the leadership team to oversee and improve current programs and projects, help foster a safe and inclusive organizational culture and community space, and generally keep CCI moving in a positive direction.
