CCI’s Executive Board 2020-2021 Board Turnover

CCI is currently looking for new members for our Executive and Working Board for the 2020-2021 term. The mission of the CCI Board is to lead, guide, operate, and plan for CCI, and its projects and programs, in accordance with our core mission statement, values, and bylaws. The CCI Board is an Executive Board that governs CCI according to its official bylaws and ensures that regulations are followed and that the organization is run in fulfillment with its mission. The CCI Executive Board is responsible for participating in important votes that happen frequently at its regular board meetings and act as an official sanction for the Board to move forward on certain decisions. At the same time, the CCI Board is also a working board, meaning that members have active responsibilities for CCI from day-to-day. It meets twice a month over video chat, on the first and third Sunday of every month from 9-10 PM EST, as well as demands about two to three hours of work outside of board meetings


 Applicant Requirements

  • All Chinese adoptees ages 15+ are eligible to apply.

  • Applicants must be able to satisfy the basic requirements for members of the Executive Board - **PLEASE READ CAREFULLY**

    • Board member commit for an entire calendar year from August 1, 2020 to July 31st, 2021

    • Board members MUST attend two (2) meetings a month, on the first and third Sunday of every month at 9 PM EST. The first will be a general overview of programs and discussion of long-term vision and goals, and the second will be a Board / Committee Meeting in which the committee members leading individual projects will come to share their updates and troubleshoot.

    • If Board Members miss three (3) meetings within a three month period or five (5) meetings within a six month period, they will automatically be asked to leave the board and we will find someone new to fill their position. Attendance is taken at every board meeting and is strictly enforced. 

  • Applicants should have at least 2 hours or more a week to work on CCI.

Application Process 

New CCI Executive Board members are chosen by the current 2019-2020 CCI Board at the beginning of every CCI year. Training for new applicants will begin as soon as August starts. 

To apply, you must adhere to the following steps for a complete application. If any of the steps are missing, you will not be considered. 

  1. Ensure that you meet Basic Qualifications

  2. Review Information Sheet for Applicants

  3. Complete Written Application by Tuesday, June 30th

  4. Participate in Interview Component between Monday, July 6th -  Monday, July 20th, 2019

Webmaster

  • Conceive and design new web pages based on content sent by other Board members

  • Complete new web page designs in a timely and professional manner 

  • Responsible for independently reviewing and maintaining website to update / fix outdated information and links

  • Research latest developments in effective web-design among businesses and non-profits and both make recommendations for improvement and development to the board and implement said recommendations when accepted
